Vocational e-Mentoring

Supporting vocational e-learning

I have just completed 31 Days To Build a Better Blog Project which I joined because my goal is to be more effective at helping others and I realised by improving my blogging ability it would help.

We ended up forming a community and undertaking this challenge together. What we discovered was community members found that knowledge gain from the 31 Day Project was greater than working as individuals, because each individual sees a different perspective of the task - giving participants greater “food for thought!”

So my question is I realised the incredible power of learning in a community but what I am seeing is we have a lot of communities set up at Ning but we are often struggling to get the community interaction and learning happening.

So can you please give me your suggestions on:

How can we get interactions happen?
What would be an incentive for you to want to participate?
What is preventing you from participating more?
One aspect that has worked really well in the Better Blog community is weekly challenges and reward incentives. Do you believe this would help?
